Hey folks, hope 2018 treats you splendidly so far.
We’re adding What’s In Season pages to the blog as we go along this year, and January’s list has just gone up. Whoop!
Slim pickings at this time of year, true dat. But there are some real gems that come into their own about now too.
So, as you’re here, you just as well try one of these glorious recipes from our archives init….
Jerusalem artichokes are where it’s at in January. They are at their peak now and represent the very best of the season. And this dish from Mario Batali is sublime. Wafer thin slices of raw chokes with a rich fonduta (a béchamel made with Fontina cheese), topped with gremolata and it’s a taste sensation. You will not regret making this!
This fresh, zingy salad kinda cheats winter. Sunshine in a bowl.
Parsnips and kale are year round veg but in both cases are at their best in January, and this is one of our favourite ways to eat them.
Ahh the trusty leek. This is comfort on an epic level.
With love x
Aaaand now I’m hungry.
